Karl Joseph is amazing. The one knock on him has been that people weren't sure how good he was in pass coverage. I think he is out to answer those questions and then some. He had three interceptions in one QUARTER. They weren't easy interceptions either; they were amazing, adjusting to the ball type catches. He caught more GSU passes than their own receivers did. Oh and by the way he also forced a fumble and made 8 tackles. The dude was all over the field. Holgorsen gave out his first game-ball ever to Karl and Karl turned around and handed the ball to the entire defense. That attitude is probably why Holgorsen called him "the inspirational leader of the team."

Skyler Howard is still indeed a work in progress. He referred to himself as being "antsy." He missed several throws in the first half contributing to WVU having a very hard time scoring in the red-zone. However, he settled down a bit in the second half. Skyler seems to beam short passes with way too much velocity. He has to work on his throwing touch.

The two young outside receivers are ballers
; both Jovon Durante and Shelton Gibson had over 100 yards receiving and a TD a piece. Durante had one of the game announcers speechless with his talent. He has a combination of speed, athleticism, and ball finding skills rarely seen from a true freshman. Shorts and Squirt (Thompson) also re-established that they have the experience to be dependable guys in the slot.

Does anyone still think the 3-3-5 defense can't stop the run? Georgia Southern was limited to 195 rushing yards. Last season they led the nation with an average 381 yards per game. West Virginia ended Georgia Southern’s scoring streak at 242 games. Too bad so sad for GSU.

GSU Fans were a bit shocked. GSU fans talked a lot of colorful trash before the game. Here is a forum you can read if you so choose that illustrates them going from cocky, to hopeful, to upset, to utter despair during the course of the game. That's all for now. I am going to try and make this a regular occurrence going forward.
